March 13th - Two Heroine Sisters' Festival - An annual event held in memory of the two heroine sisters, Khunying Muk and Khunying Chan, who jointly led the soldiers and people of Thalang, as Phuket was known formerly, in repelling the invading Burmese troops after a siege of one month.

April 2008
April 6th - Chakri Day April 13th - Songkran April 13th - Sea Turtle releasing ceremony - In order to help preserve these lovely animals, they are bred at the Phuket Aquarium and when the young sea turtles are mature enough, they are released into the sea in a ceremony. The ceremony is usually held at Phanwa Cape and Nai Yang- Mai Khao Beaches to coincide with the Songkran Festival.

October 11th to 19th - Phuket Vegetarian Festival. The Phuket Vegetarian Festival is an annual event held during the ninth lunar month of the Chinese calendar. It is believed that the vegetarian festival and its accompanying sacred rituals bestow good fortune upon those who religiously observe this rite. During this time, local residents of Chinese ancestry strictly observe a 10-day vegetarian or vegan diet for the purposes of spiritual cleansing and merit-making. Sacred rituals are performed at various Chinese shrines and temples and aesthetic displays such as walking barefooted over hot coals and ascending ladders with bladed rungs are performed by entranced devotees known as "Ma Song". November 1st - Patong Beach Festival - This annual event, firstly held in 1985, marks the beginning of the tourist season in Phuket. It has been organized by the tourist trade community of Patong Beach to promote tourism in the province and to contribute to the unity among people in the various branches of the tourist industry. Activities include watersports and tourist beauty contests. November 1st to 3rd - Patong/Phuket Carnival is held during the first week of November to celebrate the begining of the high season in Phuket. You wil find a myriad of activities, competetitions, lively parades and food stalls selling a variety of Thai foods. November full moon - Loy Krathong - During the full moon of November, everywhere in Thailand where you have a body of water, people light "Krathong" small floating boats made from banana leaf and decorated with candles and incense sticks. With a family member or a loved one, you light the Krathong and place it on the water while making a wish and prayer to spirits. The event is a memorable moment with thousands of floating Krathongs and fireworks. This happens everywhere in Thailand.

December 5th - HM The King's Birthday December 1st through 8th - Phuket King's Cup Regatta - The Phuket King's Cup Regatta was first held in Phuket in December 1987 in celebration of the 60th birthday of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Since then, the Regatta has become an annual affair attracting more and more of the region's top yacht enthusiasts among hundreds of participants each year. It is now recognized as a world-class yachting event due to the top standard racing, the wonderful scenery and sailing conditions. The best place to view this yachting spectacle is from Phromthep Cape, the southernmost tip of the island. December 10th - Constitution Day December 17th to 18th - Phuket Laguna Thriathlon - The famous sporting event, held annually at Bang Thao Beach, comprises a 1800-metre swim, a 55-kilometre bike race and a 12-kilometre run. It attracts world-class triathletes from around the world. December 25th - Christmas Day - Not an official holiday in Thailand but the spirit of Christmas is still present as this is the tourist high season but this is not a day off. December 31st - New Year's Eve - This is not a Buddhist holiday but Thailand celebrates the new years.
